Measuring instruments for traffic signs and retroreflective foils
Retroreflective foils are used on traffic signs, vehicles, routing signs for building sites, safety clothing, etc. However, in contrast with road markings, these are renewed less frequently. They are however subject to wear, which can be caused by such things as thermal stress, the effect of UV, contamination and damage.
To enable the optical characteristics of the foil to be checked quickly and easily, DELTA Light & Optics has developed the RetroSign series for measuring reflection values (R'). RetroSign units enable all types of foil to be checked quickly and easily without entering the type or colour. Delta offers the units with different apertures in order to comply with different national specifications.
The RetroSign GR1 and GR3 series of units comply with the requirements of DIN EN 12899, EN 471 or ASTM-E-1709.
