Traffic monitoring system TDS 821R/VDK900

The TDS 821R consist of powerful hardware and software for implementing the various system components, such as the control module, function groups, interfaces for signal processing and interfaces for mobile or landline communication.

The function group FG 1 outputs interval-controlled short-term and long-term traffic flow data, which are gathered and evaluated by BASt-certified inductive loop detectors/classifiers. The system can be parameterised from a central unit or locally.

As standard, TLS-compliant short-term and long-term FG1 data (data input block Structure 79, Type 24) are determined and made available for interrogation by a central unit. Long-term data can also be read out locally and transferred to a notebook or PC using a miniSD card or memory stick. Long-term data can be kept in the system for several months.

If required, the TDS 821R/VDK900 can also register individual vehicle data over a period of weeks and months. The data input block structure in Type 63 according to TLS or extensions thereof is used for this purpose. MiniSD cards with a storage capacity of 1 GB are used as data media. A root server on the Internet is provided for the online connection of remote monitoring stations where there are no roadside telecommunications cables or telephone landlines.

TLS suitability test according to TLS 2002

With the TDS 820R/821R/VDK900 systems, Traffic Data Systems was for almost 3 years the only manufacturer to have achieved undefinedAccuracy class A1 at a cable length of 300m and 8+1 vehicle classification on the TLS Type 2 loop. Further proof of the outstanding quality and accuracy.

Detectors/classifiers Type VDK900

As standard, the VDK900 detector/classifier provides 8+ 1 vehicle types. For customers in other countries, Traffic Data Systems has already expanded the learning sets on several occasions by adding special types, so that today light delivery vehicles with trailer and Gigaliners can also be identified with total unambiguity.

The picture shows a compact, weather-proof cabinet made from synthetic material with a protection class of IP 54. On the right-hand side is the power compartment fitted with 2 cylinder locks. The left-hand section provides sufficient space for mounting the TDS 821R traffic monitoring system in its swing frame, the loop termination unit including lightning protection, fuses, sockets and GSM antenna, and sufficient space for a leased line terminator and a UPS unit to overcome power failures in order to be able to relay messages to the central unit. Designs with swing frames or other requirements can also be supplied.
